My First Mentor’s Advice

My mother was my first mentor. She passed away in 2014 and I remember so many of the mentoring sessions that we had during my adult years. Shortly before her death, she gave me three things to always remember: 1) Never forget where you came from, 2) Always treat people with respect and 3) Always be kind to people as you go up in life, because you will have to pass the same people when you come down.
