As a previous user of the virtual engagement app, Thirty2give, I’d like to give you an update of what we’ve been up to over the last six months and invite you to download the latest update and experience the improvements.
Let me remind you why Thirty2give was developed. The four minority co-founders wanted to create a space that accomplished three goals. Connections on current engagement platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and others are based on what you look like or what credentials you have, sort of like a dating website. Our first goal was to create a space that is free of unconscious bias, were anyone with experience can find or be a mentor. That’s why we recommend usernames that do not expose your name, gender, race or any other personal identifying features. The anonymity feature encourages mentees to ask unbiased questions they need answers to and encourages mentors to give answers also unbiased. We understand that successful people make the best mentors, but they are also quite busy.
Our second goal was to create a platform where busy successful people can reach back and help others, so we segmented the engagement duration into 30-day sessions giving both parties exit and renewal opportunities. Also, we recognize that the perfect mentor or mentee may not be located in your city but could be on the other side of the world. To facilitate the connection, our 3rd goal was to promote communications real or near real time using chat/text eliminating the need to be in the same time zone or online at the same time. Sixty percent of the current Thirty2give users are from countries outside of the US from countries like Afghanistan, Brazil, India, Israel, Mexico, Peru, United Kingdom, Zambia, and many others.
We have been relentless in our pursuit to improve. We’ve made the chat rooms more secure, improved calendar features for scheduling meetings, added delete option to the chat room, allowed sharing options to other social platforms, added like emojis, and document sharing from Google Drive and DropBox. We’ve also reduced the amount of information collected in your profile. The only identifying information collected is your email and that is needed in case you forget your password.
